NEW WINDSOR – The business incubator program called The Accelerator is expanding beyond its original Orange County borders.
The program, started by the Orange County Industrial Development Agency, is authorized to establish incubators around the Mid-Hudson Valley region.
It started with two programs in New Windsor adjacent to Stewart Airport and is now developing another at the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine campus in the City of Middletown.
Accelerator Executive Director Vincent Cozzolino said they are also creating new “pods” in other counties.
“There is an Accelerator done in partnership with the Ulster-Greene ARC in Kingston and there is an Accelerator that will be started in partnership with SUNY Rockland in Rockland County at the old Pfizer campus,” Cozzolino said.
The Orange County IDA-powered program, funded by a state grant, is also developing Accelerator programs in the City of Port Jervis and Village of Highland Falls, Cozzolino said.
