TOWN OF ULSTER – A 28-year-old
Tillson man was killed Monday morning in a one-vehicle accident on Route
32 near Dewitt Mills Road in the Town of Ulster.
Sheriff’s investigators said Justin Scharschu was driving a 2015
Ford F350 pickup truck northbound on Route 32 at around 6:08 a.m. when
the vehicle struck, or was struck, by a tree that fell into the roadway.
The truck ran off the road and came to rest in a wooded area off the road.
Scharschu was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ulster Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by State and
Town of Ulster Police, Bloomington Fire Department and Mobile Life Support
Services.
