Two new department heads named in Ulster

KINGSTON – Ulster County Executive Michael Hein named new directors to the departments of Information Services and Office for the Aging.
Jose DeLeon, Jr. will serve as the director of the Department of Information Services. The retired Marine Corps lieutenant colonel last served at First Marine Corps District in Garden City, New York and retired in June from a 20-year career with the Marines with extensive experience in IT.
Shelley Wagar will serve as the new director of the Office for the Aging.  She is currently executive director of the New York Center for Assisted Living. The Boiceville resident brings with her “extensive experience and management skills [that] will be a strong asset to the department and its programs, providing our seniors with continued support and services,” said Hein.
The county executive also appointed Tara McDonald of Kingston as deputy commissioner of Mental Health. She has worked for many years i9n different roles with the New York State Office of Mental Health.
