EAST FISHKILL – National Resources (NRE) has acquired 300 acres of the former IBM East Fishkill campus in East Fishkill. The property, with its two million square feet of buildings was purchased from GlobalFoundries, which will continue to own 160 acres where it manufactures the 300-nm semiconductor wafer and will lease several buildings from NRE.
The campus will become one of NRE’s i.Parks, a branded mixed-use
tech/flex redevelopment with retail, hotel and residential components.
County Executive Marcus Molinaro was pleased that the transaction has been completed.
“This is a very exciting opportunity to grow jobs, to grow economic opportunity and to see this property come back to life,” he said.
Molinaro said the Think Dutchess Alliance for Business will work with National Resources to attract commercial, industrial and mixed-use development to the site.
IBM and eMagin will lease offices, laboratories and clean rooms. Several high bay areas are also to be leased to new users and high cube build-to-suite warehouses have been designed for distribution and fulfillment centers.
The purchase price of the new NRE acquisition was not mentioned in a company news announcement.
NRE has developed several major projects in the Hudson Valley and other locations, including Georgia, Florida and Michigan.
