McDonnell: Heading to Ossining

POUGHKEEPSIE – City Administrator Deborah McDonnell has submitted
her resignation in the City of Poughkeepsie. She will be taking the job
as Ossining village manager.

“After much prayer, reflection, and consultation with my family,
I have submitted my resignation effective August 31, 2017,” she
wrote in a memo at City Hall.

“I have enjoyed getting to know so many of you and feel blessed
that we were able to work together,” she wrote.

McDonnell will start her new job on September 5 and take over for interim
Village Manager Paul Fraioli, who has held the post since May of last
year. He will continue in his role as village engineer.

As chief administrative officer, McDonnell will be responsible for the
daily operations of the village and all of its departments including oversight
of 171 full-time and 130 seasonal and part-time employees.

McDonnell has worked in local government for 20 years. “Her experience
with community and economic development will be a tremendous asset particularly
in this moment as the village is focused on the further revitalization
of downtown,” said Mayor Victoria Gearity.
