Georgia man killed in Sprain Brook crash

GREENBURGH – An Atlanta, Georgia man was killed when his SUV, which was traveling at high speed, struck the rear of an SUV on the Sprain Brook Parkway on Saturday, then struck a guide rail, ran down an embankment, and rolled over several times.
Dereck Coffee, 48, was dead at the scene.
State Police said Coffee’s vehicle was northbound in the right lane and attempted to move into the center lane when it struck the rear of a vehicle driven by a Yorktown man.  He and his passengers declined medical attention at the crash scene.
The collision remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to call the Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Hawthorne at 915-769-2600.
