WHITE PLAINS – Former Westchester County Board of Legislators Chairwoman, Lois Bronz, announced her endorsement of 16th District Legislator Ken Jenkins for County Executive on Thursday.
“Ken’s well-known dedication to the people of Westchester is exactly what we need in a County Executive,” said Bronz. “He is effective, diligent, and tireless in his dedication to better government. I stand with him in his efforts to bring Westchester to a new place.”
Bronz was elected to the Greenburgh Town Board in 1976 and served there for 16 years before becoming the first Democratic African-American woman to win election to the county Board of Legislators. In 2002, she was the unanimous choice to serve as Board Chair.
“Ken is what Westchester needs right now,” said Bronz. “He will invigorate Democrats in a way that we have not seen in years.”
“I am so honored and humbled by Lois Bronz’s support,” Jenkins said. “Her legacy on the Board is exemplary. As chairwoman, she crossed boundaries, made all of our lives better, and made history along the way.”
Jenkins also has the endorsement of legislature Majority Leader Catherine Borgia and the Democratic Committee in his hometown of Yonkers, among others.
