TOWN OF CHESTER – A fire in an apartment above a garage in the
Town of Chester early Saturday morning claimed one life.
The fire, which was reported around 6:44 a.m. at 388 Bellvale Road, was
reported by a passerby.
Police Chief Daniel Doellinger said the man, whose name has not been released
pending positive identification and notification of relatives, was located
on a couch inside the residence.
The fire was extinguished by the Chester Fire Department. Town Police
and the Orange County Fire Investigation Team are currently investigating
the cause of the fire.
