MONTICELLO – A 20-year-old
Fallsburg man is the latest victim of gun violence in the Village of Monticello.
Police were called to the Monticello Housing Authority complex at Evergreen
Drive at about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday for a report of gunfire.
They found the victim in an apartment with a gunshot wound to the lower
back. He was transported by Mobile Medic ambulance to Orange Regional
Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. He was reported in stable condition.
Officers recovered several spent shell casings from several different
calibers at the scene.

Monticello Police were assisted at the scene by the State Police Forensic
Investigations Unit and uniformed troopers, the Sullivan County Sheriff’s
Office and Monticello Fire Department.
