ALBANY – Four local libraries have secured state grant funding for construction and upgrades.
The Albert Wisner Public Library in Warwick will receive $157,333 to renovate the facility’s exterior and expand the parking lot, including additional handicap spaces.
Goshen Public Library and Historical Society will receive $105,936 to install a geothermal wellfield system to improve efficiency and save money on heating and cooling.
Tomkins Cove Public Library will receive $46,963 to replace windows.
The Highland Falls Library will receive $23,490 to continue renovating their basement.
The funds for all four projects were secured by State Assemblyman James Skoufis (D, Woodbury), who noted that “libraries provide our residents with the tools and resources necessary to expand our horizons, access information and help us learn and grow.” He said the improvements will “provide opportunities that simply were not previously possible.”
