TOWN OF WARWICK – A group of Chinese investors that had expressed interest in a project at the Warwick Valley Office and Technology Corporate Park has come back to Warwick Town officials.
Town Supervisor Michael Sweeton said the group originally wanted to develop an agricultural college, but has since changed that to a hospitality model.
“Kind of a housing operation where they would bring in tourists from overseas, house them on-sight and then take them touring around Orange County,” Sweeton said. “I think it’s a good plan and they just need the financing.”
The Warwick Valley Corporate Park is being developed on the site of the former state Mid-Orange Correctional Facility, which was shuttered in 2011.
