THOMPSON – The Empire Resorts’
casino under construction at the site of the historic former Concord Hotel
in Kiamesha Lake will be called Resorts World Catskills.
Last month, Empire entered into a license agreement to rebrand the resort casino, formerly known as Montreign Resort Casino, as a Resort World property.
The new name is meant to pay homage to the Catskills region of New York. The facility is expected to open in March of next year.
“The name Resorts World Catskills melds the allure of the Catskills region with the prestige of the Resorts World family,” said Emanuel Pearlman, executive chairman of the board of directors of Empire. “This recognized worldwide gaming and hospitality brand will provide us greater power to market our resort casino, which is designed to meet five-star and five-diamond standards, and provide regional, national and international exposure for the Catskills region.”
The internationally-recognized Resorts World hospitality and casino branch is applied to properties around the world including destination resorts in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Singapore; Bimini, Bahamas; Manilla, Philippines; Birmingham, England; New York City; and the newest property under construction in La Vegas.
