TOWN OF WALLKILL – The first non-stop flights between Stewart Airport and Europe aboard Norwegian Airlines don’t begin for another month, but most seats are booked up already. That revelation came Thursday at an Orange County Chamber of Commerce breakfast in the Town of Wallkill.
Stewart Manager Ed Harrison said the first of four destinations, Edinburgh, Scotland, will begin on June 15 with Dublin service beginning on July 1 followed by Shannon on the second, Bergen, Norway on July 3 and Belfast on July 4.
“Already we are talking about new destinations with this company, who are 90 percent booked for the first three months of operations out of Stewart International Airport,” he said.
Harrison said Norwegian is also talking to airport officials about a warm weather destination from Stewart.
