NEWBURGH – Three assistance Newburgh city fire chiefs took the civil service test for fire chief.
City Manager Michael Ciaravino said they all qualify for the department’s top job.
“Three individuals successfully applied and took and seated for the exam,” Ciaravino said. “The three that are eligible are from our fire department Assistant Chief Terry Ahlers, Assistant Chief Ed Petricek and Assistant Chief Robert Bain.”
Ahlers is currently acting fire chief. It will be up to Ciaravino to appoint a permanent chief.
