Newburgh man charged with rape in sexual abuse of underage child

TOWN OF NEWBURGH – State Police have arrested a Newburgh man on
charge of rape in connection with the sexual abuse of a child under the
age of 13 that occurred in the towns of Newburgh and Plattekill.

Timothy Antonucci, 47, was charged on Friday with rape and two counts
of criminal sexual act, all felonies, and endangering the welfare of a
child as a misdemeanor.

An investigation by the State Police Child Abuse Unit and Ulster County
Family and Child Advocacy Center, along with State Police investigators
from the Highland and Montgomery barracks led to the arrest of Antonucci,
who knew the child.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $50,000
cash bail or bond pending a future court appearance.
