WURTSBORO – State Police arrested a Wurtsboro man on a charge that he possessed a sexual performance by a child as a felony.
Gerard Colbert, 65, is a level two registered sex offender who relocated from New Hampshire to Wurtsboro over a year ago. He was placed on probation through Sullivan County this past February.
The county probation department conducted a home visit at Colbert’s residence on March 30 and found him in violation of the terms and conditions of his probation.
The State Police assisted the county, investigated further and later arrested Colbert, who was sent to the Sullivan County Jail.
A further investigation by the State Police Troop F Computer Crimes Unit
revealed he was in possession of a sexual performance by a child. As a
result, bail was set at $50,000.
