PORT JERVIS – A number of cities in the Mid-Hudson Valley, among them Newburgh, Poughkeepsie, Middletown and Kingston, have breweries. They are all located along the Hudson River.
Port Jervis, the city to the west on the Delaware River, will have its first brewery later this year.

Renovation work on the future Fox N Hare is well underway in a section of Front Street that is seeing a lot of activity lately

Mayor Kelly Decker said the partners are putting their blood, sweat and
tears into the project at 46-48 Front Street.
“They are in the process of real hard labor in putting this brewery in,” Decker said. “One side is going to be a restaurant/pub; the other side is going to be the brewery, and there will be a catwalk around the kettles so that you can actually watch the brew process from the basement up.”
The partners, David Krantz and Sean Donnelly, have bought houses and moved to Port Jervis from New York City.
The building had belonged to the city, which took it over after a wall collapsed years ago.
