KINGSTON – Following self-assessments by all but one component of Ulster County Government, County Comptroller Elliott Auerbach has identified areas with a high degree of exposure, risk or liability.
Twenty-nine units of county government participated in his survey; only
the county legislature did not respond. Based on the feedback, Auerbach
formulated his 2017 tentative audit plan.
“We have basically outlined several DSS compliance audits, a financial audit through county insurance, a mental health audit for outsources of services, an audit of the Ulster County Economic Development Alliance,” Auerbach noted.
Last year, the Ulster comptroller’s office completed 32 audits, reports and examinations of county government.
