GOSHEN – An Orange County Court jury convicted Newburgh resident Michael Robinson, 20, of criminal possession of a weapon and resisting arrest.
On July 27, 2016, Robinson was a passenger in a car pulled over by Newburgh City Police at 3 in the morning on Benkard Avenue. The car was stopped as part of an investigation into a gunpoint robbery that had occurred a few hours earlier.  After the car stopped, Robinson got out and ran from officers, who apprehended him with the aid of K-9 Bane. A loaded semi-automatic handgun was found under his car seat.
Robinson faces up to 15 years in prison on the weapon charge when sentenced in May.
District Attorney David Hoovler credited Newburgh Police officers “who work hard to keep our streets safe.”
