WHITE PLAINS – A Mount Vernon man was arraigned in Westchester County Court on Tuesday on a murder charge in the death of his roommate.
Clifford Ali, 53, was also charged with three counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the murder of Martin Lisnak, 74, on November 21, 2016.
Police received a 911 call from Ali, who said that a man he identified as his “father” had been beaten up on the street.  When police arrived on the scene, they found Lisnak naked, dead, uncovered and appearing to be severely beaten.
An investigation revealed that the victim was not related to Ali, but rather, they were roommates.
Ali had blood on his hands and three canes, which had apparent blood on them, were recovered inside the apartment. There was apparent blood splatter on the walls in the room where the victim was located.
The medical examiner ruled the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the body. He had a fractured upper arm and hemorrhages and had suffered at least 15 to 20 wounds to his body.
If convicted, Ali faces 25 years to life in state prison.
