Texas man charged with making harassing phone calls, weapon possession

CARMEL – The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Texas man in Carmel for allegedly making harassing phone calls to an ex-girlfriend and for having a weapon.
Jose Bautista, 24, of Canyon Lake, Texas, faces misdemeanor charges.
On February 16, the ex-girlfriend filed a complaint of aggravated harassment against Bautista, alleging that he had repeatedly made harassing telephone calls to her.
Bautista was located in Carmel where he was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Carmel Town Court, charging him with aggravated harassment. During the booking process, a deputy allegedly found him in possession of an expandable police-type baton resulting in the charge of weapon possession.
Bautista is in the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail.
