POUGHKEEPSIE – The term of Dutchess County comptroller is four years and incumbent Republican James Coughlan is completing his second term.
On Tuesday night, the county GOP Committee endorsed him for a third stint.
Party Chairman Michael McCormick said Coughlan is doing an excellent job as comptroller.
“Jim Coughlan has the right qualifications,” McCormick said. “He is an outstanding comptroller for the County of Dutchess. He has done incredible work for the people of Dutchess County. “We fully support him 100 percent.”
Political newcomer Robin Lois will challenge Coughlan in November on the Democratic line.
