no
suspects have been arrested to date

FISHKILL – Reconstruction of a portion of the Gap distribution
center in Fishkill is set to begin in the near future.

The Dutchess County Industrial Development Wednesday approved s sales
tax exemption on equipment and materials needed to get the center up and
running again.

IDA Executive Director Sarah Lee said the tax exemption will equal $8.7
million on spending of $110 million.

The work can now begin, said Lee.

“They needed this benefit before they went and purchased anything
or started the construction Now that they have this, there is a little
bit of paperwork we have to process, but basically they will be starting
right away,” she said.
Reconstruction of the section of the massive facility that was damaged
by an arson fire last August will take two years and cost $180 million,
said Lee. To date, no one has been charged with setting the blaze.
