NEW WINDSOR – The dates for the 2017 New York Air Show are being moved up to July 1 and 2 because the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will headline the show at Stewart Airport at Newburgh.
The show had been scheduled originally for September 9 and 10.
Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus announced the new dates and banner performers.
“The Blue Angels are considered one of the, if not the top fighter teams in the world. They definitely have my vote as the best around,” Neuhaus said. “It is going to be a major draw, a major celebration for being patriotic on the weekend of July 4th and you couldn’t ask for a better tourist attraction than the Blue Angels.”
This will be the third year of the recent air shows by B. Lilley Productions and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which operates Stewart.
