I-84 Town of Newburgh closed by tanker fire

TOWN OF NEWBURGH — Eastbound
I-84 at exit 10 in the Town of Newburgh was shut down before 2 p.m. due
to a tactor-trailer tanker fire. The roadway is expected to be closed
for some two hours, according to the state Department of Transportation.
The incident itself is just east of exit 11 at Route 9D in Beacon.
The DOT advises motorists to either cross over the Mid-Hudson Bridge
to the north or go southbound on Route 9W to the George Washington Bridge.
The Bear Mountain Bridge between Garrison and Cortlandt is closer and
motorists can access Roue 9W north or south on the west side of the Hudson
River.
