KINGSTON – The Public Health and Social Services Committee of the Ulster County Legislature is on record opposing a full repeal of Obamacare.
Committee Chairman Craig Lopez supported the local resolution for a couple of reasons.
“It opposes a total repeal of the Affordable Care Act without a replacement, which is really important,” Lopez said. “People won’t lose their healthcare coverage – a potential 20,000 people in Ulster County will be protected, and folks with pre-existing conditions will be protected will be protected under this as well.”
The memorializing resolution has bipartisan support and will move to the full county legislature for approval.
