Ten arrested on federal drug trafficking charges in Orange County

WHITE PLAINS – Ten members of two drug trafficking organizations in Orange County were charged in unsealed indictments with conspiracy to distribute cocaine. Two other members were arrested on separate complaints.
In a coordinated operation on Wednesday, federal, state and local law enforcement officers arrested eight people in Orange County and the Bronx. One had already been arrested.
According to the indictments, Rigoberto Diaz; Jairo Esquivias, also known as “Jalisco”, Juan Romero; Saul Garzon; Andres Rios; and Juan Sanchez Perez were charged with conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams of cocaine. Diaz and his alleged accomplices distributed cocaine in and around the City of Newburgh and other locations in the county.
Adan Solis-Teyo, also known as “Adan Hernandez”; Christopher Pool; Luis Sanchez, also known as “Eito;” and Luis Mejia, also known as “Miguel Contreras,” are charged with conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams of cocaine. Solis-Teyo and his alleged co-conspirators distributed cocaine in and around the City of Newburgh and the Bronx.     
William Perelda, also known as “William Peralda,” and “Arturo Pelez-Gonzalez,” was charged with conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine. He is also charged with five counts of distribution of cocaine based on sales of cocaine to a cooperating witness.
“With many of the individuals arrested today facing up to 40 years in prison if convicted, we have sent a clear message to drug dealers in Orange County that they should immediately seek other employment,” said Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent-in-Charge Angel Melendez.
