ALBANY – It is Christmas in February for the Town of Warwick. The town will receive a $50,000 state grant for the purchase of a new backhoe for the town’s Department of Public Works.
The grant comes from the State Municipal Facilities Program.
Warwick has a 1984 backhoe that is used for road repairs, water and sewer repairs and public works construction projects throughout the town.
“The grant will allow the Town of Warwick to continue making necessary infrastructure improvements throughout the town,” said State Senator John Bonacic who secured the funding.
The new machine will ensure that DPW can complete “critical repairs on our roads and water/sewer systems,” said Town Supervisor Michael Sweeton.
