ALBANY – A Kingston resident was sentenced on Tuesday in federal court in Albany to time served – 110 days in jail – for illegally re-entering the United States. This was the fifth time Erik Rodolfo Lozano-Arratia, 27, snuck back into the country.
As part of his guilty plea, Lozano-Arratia, admitted that he returned to the United States after his May 15, 2013 removal to Mexico. He also admitted that he had been removed to Mexico four other times, three of them in 2011 and one in 2012.
On October 20, 2016, Lozano-Arratia was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Enforcement and Removal Operations officers.
With his sentence complete, he was remanded to the custody of the Department of Homeland Security, which will place him into removal proceedings.
