Poughkeepsie man shot while celebrating his birthday

POUGHKEEPSIE – A man, who was celebrating his 41st birthday at Club Ciboney in Poughkeepsie early Sunday morning told police he went outside in a large parking lot at Cannon and Academy streets at around 3:50 and as he was talking to a group of people, he heard a gunshot, felt pain and went down.
The victim of the first shooting of the year in the City of Poughkeepsie, told police he didn’t see who shot him nor did anyone around him.
He was transported by private vehicle to Vassar Brothers Medical Center. His wounds were not life threatening.  Police said the bullet had entered his right thigh, exited his right inner thigh and into his left thigh coming to rest in his calf.
