Two arrested on drug charges in Port Jervis

PORT JERVIS – Two men have been arrested on felony drug charges
stemming from an August 2016 high-speed chase and crash in Port Jervis.
City Police said a car operated by Scott Walker, 30, was observed driving
in an erratic and reckless manner on Pike Street just before midnight
on August 6. A short pursuit ended when the car crashed into a parked
vehicle.

Walker fled foot, but a passenger, identified as Justin Jiminez-Castillo,
20, of Montague, New Jersey, was apprehended after a brief foot chase.
A search of their car yielded four grams of powder cocaine.

Walker eluded police and wasn’t arrested until this past Thursday,
August 26.
Police charged Jiminez-Castillo at the time of the incident with felony
criminal possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor for resisting
arrest.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $1,000
cash bail pending grand jury action. Police said according to records,
grand jury evaluation is pending.

With Walker’s arrest, he was charged with two felony counts of criminal
possession of a controlled substance – cocaine, and felony reckless
endangerment. He was also charged with the misdemeanors of criminal mischief,
resisting arrest, unlawful fleeing a police officer, aggravated unlicensed
operation and 13 vehicle and traffic violations.

Walker was remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash
bail and $250,000 bond.

He is also awaiting court action on extradition proceedings in another
jurisdiction.
