WASHINGTON – Several busloads of Hudson Valley residents traveled to the nation’s capital on Friday to participate in the annual March for Life.
Those who attended included a handful of high school students from Our
Lady of Lourdes in Poughkeepsie.

Among them, Traci LaValle, 17, of Fishkill, who felt it was a once in
a lifetime experience to attend and share her pro-life stance.
“I just believe in the sacredness of every human life and that every person was given human life for a purpose and that it is not within our jurisdiction to decide who get gets life and who doesn’t, whether that person is ourselves or an unborn fetus,” LaValle told Mid-Hudson News by phone.
Joseph Candela of the Town of Newburgh has been attending the march for the past 10 years. He calls it “an amazing experience” when people unite against abortion and euthanasia.   He believes every human life should be protected from “natural birth to natural death.”
This year’s march was extra special for the tens of thousands who
attended as Vice President Mike Pence spoke to the marchers.

Pence was the highest-ranking elected official to ever address the march.
