PORT JERVIS – Over the next six weeks, Orange and Rockland Utilities will be relocating its poles and overhead wires along East Main Street in Port Jervis to clear the way for the city’s new road widening project and the replacement of the Neversink Bridge.
From now through roughly the end of February, O&R will take the opportunity to also upgrade its electric facilities in the area to improve customer service reliability.
As a result of the project, motorists should expect intermittent single-lane closures along East Main Street between North Street and High Point Road between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The utility said brief individual power interruptions will result for only East Main Street customers when their existing electric service wires are moved to the new O&R facilities. Those interruptions will be coordinated with 360 affected customers, and are expected to be 15 to 30 minutes long.
