ALBANY – Two Westchester County housing agencies will receive funding from the state Attorney General’s Office through the Foreclosure Rescue Scam Prevention Effort.
The grants will allow the AG and its partners to connect New Yorkers most vulnerable to foreclosure scams with vital homeowner protection plans.
Westchester Residential Opportunities, Inc. of White Plains will receive $50,000 while Housing Action Council, Inc. of Tarrytown will receive $25,000.
The funding for the homeowner protection plan and the foreclosure rescue scam prevention initiative comes from settlements the attorney general secured through the federal-state mortgage-backed securities working group.
