FISHKILL – A worker at
the site of the August 30 Gap warehouse fire was killed Saturday afternoon
in a construction accident.

State Police said the man, who they identified on Sunday as James Parisella,
58, of Fort Pierce, Florida, was operating an excavating machine when
a piece of steel beam and tin crashed through the cab, killing him.

The man was working for Environmental Remediation Services of Syracuse.
They were subcontracted by Clayto Contractors of Chicago, which had the
contract for the demolition and rebuild. The company has been working
at the Gap site since November 16.

The cause of the massive fire was determined to be arson, but no one has
been charged to date.
