Teen charged in Columbia County stabbing

PHILMONT – A Copake youth was arrested and charged with felony assault following an argument that led to a stabbing, State Police at the Livingston barracks said.
At about 5:40 p.m., police were called to a residence on Main Street in Philmont and found that Sean Edwards, 16, allegedly stabbed another teen in the arm following an argument. Edwards fled on foot, but turned himself n to police a short time later.
The victim was treated and released from Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.
Edwards was sent to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
State Police were assisted by the Philmont Police and Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
