RAMAPO – Ramapo Police responded Thursday evening to a residential address in the Town of Ramapo for a domestic dispute involving a knife. Upon arrival, officers determined that a 40-year-old woman became involved in a verbal dispute with one of her children, and after deciding that she did not want him living in the home anymore, she attempted to chase him out of the house with a knife. Officers located the weapon on a table in the home, and it was secured as evidence.
The mother, whose name was not released, was arrested and charged with menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. She was released after being arraigned by a judge, who issued an order of protection in this case. The defendant must appear in court next month to answer these charges.
