Newburgh man charged with DWI after crashing SUV into house

NEWBURGH – A Newburgh
man has been charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, DWI and
aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, all misdemeanors, after
he drove his 2005 Lincoln Navigator into the front porch of a house at
231 Gidney Avenue in Newburgh.

The home was extensively damaged, but there were no injuries in the 9:22
p.m. incident Wednesday.

The driver, identified as Michael Waldo, 44, was transported to city police
headquarters where his blood alcohol content was determined to be .19
percent.

The large hole in the side of the house is blocked off Thursday
with yellow police tape
