Central Hudson and United Way agencies provide free LED lights to families

POUGHKEEPSIE – Some 10,000 high efficiency LED light bulbs will be offered to eligible households under the community lighting program at Central Hudson through agencies supported by local United Way chapters and other community service organizations.
LED bulbs are designed to reduce electricity used for lighting by 80 percent while producing the same brightness. Those new bulbs have an average lifespan of 22 years and over that period will provide savings of $88 each.
Eligible households must be served by participating agencies supported by the United Way of Dutchess-Orange Region or the Ulster County United Way, or by other participating community service organizations o0ffering programs that serve low- to moderate-income residents.
