VALHALLA – Members of a delegation from a Chinese investment group are looking for investments in intellectual property.  They came to the campus of Westchester County Community College over the weekend to explore the opportunities.
The event was held by the ICANny incubator, Life Science Quest and BioInc at New York Medical College.
ICAN Managing Director Les Neuman said the effort is designed to assist trade in both directions.
“We are establishing a formal bridge between the two nations here in the Hudson Valley to benefit Hudson Valley companies and New York State companies and surrounding areas as well,” Neuman said.
Randy Schwartz, director of BioInc and associate dean at New York Medical College, said linkages between the college and related Chinese companies are being explored.
“There is a lot of biotech coming out of China and New York Medical College and BioInc are seeking global partnerships and this seemed like a very good synergy,” Schwartz said.
BioInc, a two-year-old initiative, has 10 resident companies already
participating in the bio-tech/life science incubator.
