MONTICELLO – Sullivan legislators appear to be of one mind, now,
regarding what kind of jail they want.

During a brief special meeting this afternoon, the legislature voted unanimously
to go with the whole package – new jail with sheriff’s administration
and road patrol building.

The low bid for that, opened yesterday, is just over $72 million, from
a firm in Rochester – the Pike Company.

“We hope to have resolutions later this month to award the contract,”
said County Manager Joshua Potosek, who said all three bidders, who were
within a $6.5 million range, appear to be reputable companies.

Legislature Chairman Luis Alvarez agreed it appears all but a done deal.
