KINGSTON – The man who called in a bomb threat to the Hannaford Supermarket in the Kingston Plaza while he was locked up was sentenced in Ulster County Court on Thursday to seven years in state prison.
Kristofer Surdis, 43, of Glenford, who has an extensive criminal history dating back to 1989, pled guilty to one count of falsely reporting an incident as a felony.
On May 6, he called the supermarket saying a bomb was about to go off. Police searched the building and found no device.  An investigation revealed Surdis made the call while he was an inmate at the Ulster County Jail on an unrelated charge.
