NEW WINDSOR – Hangar B, closest to the north side of the passenger terminal at Stewart Airport, has been razed and its adjacent hangar, A, is the next to come down once asbestos remediation is completed.

Hangar A coming down soon

Stewart Business Development Director Michael Torelli said both have outlived their useful lives. All that is left of Hangar B is the concrete floor with Hangar A next to come down.
Torelli hopes to market both pads for new airport business.
“It was the sister to Hangar B, built in the late 1930s, way past its useful life, and it’s unrentable,” he said.  “We are going to be taking that down and hopefully we will find someone in the very near future to put up something new and create some new jobs.”
The Hangar B pad will provide additional room for the expansion of the passenger terminal when the international arrivals wing is constructed.
