Cash reward offered for information on New Rochelle murder

NEW ROCHELLE – New York State Crime Stoppers has offered a reward of up to $2,500 for information that directly leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of a New Rochelle man in August.
At about 11 p.m. on August 6, Manuel Ayala, 79, was sitting in front
of 238 Union Avenue when he was struck by a bullet that seemed to be fired
at random at a crowd of people that were in front of a bodega where he
was sitting.
Ayala was taken to the hospital where he died.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-866-313-tips (8477).  All callers may remain anonymous.
