NEWBURGH – What appeared to look like the gunpoint abduction of
a woman by a man in Newburgh at 11:40 a.m. Thursday resulted in the arrests
of two of three men who fled from a building at 170 Carson Street.

The woman was not located by police, but they did capture two of the three
men who tried to flee with the aid of K-9 Officer Bella. The third man
remains at large.

A warrant search of the residence resulted in the recovery of some 24
grams of suspected crack cocaine, a mason jar with suspected PCP, heroin
packaging material and a digital scale. A loaded Glock semi-automatic
handgun was recovered in a neighboring rear yard.

Arrested were Lamar Bennerman, 23, and Steven Hall, 24. Hall was charged
with several felony drug counts and Bennerman was charged with an outstanding
parole warrant and will have pending felony drug charges for this incident,
police said.

Although Bennerman listed the address as his residence, police said it
appears that the location was only used for drug transactions.
