WHITE PLAINS – A 17-year-old Tarrytown resident was sentenced Wednesday
in Westchester County Court to 20 years in state prison after pleading
guilty to manslaughter in the stabbing death of another person.

On October 9, 2015 at about 11:12 p.m., Berinzon Moronta and several others
went to Barnhart Park in Sleepy Hollow with the intent to injury the victim,
Tahj Robinson, the court said.

Moronta approached the victim and stabbed several times with a knife,
resulting in several stab wounds to his torso, and including wounds to
his heart and lungs. Robinson was pronounced dead less than an hour later.

Moronta was arrested the following day by Westchester County Police in
a joint investigation with Sleepy Hollow Police.
