TOWN OF WALLKILL – A one-car
crash on the I-84 westbound ramp at exit 4W in the the Town of Wallkill
Tuesday morning resulted in the death of one of the two people in the
vehicle. The accident occurred around 6:40 a.m.
An unrelated two-car crash on Route 17K in the Town of Montgomery Monday evening resulted in the death of an elderly man, State Police said.
A car driven by a 16-year-old girl was traveling on Route 17K around 6:22 p.m. when she crossed lanes and struck a vehicle driven by an 85-year-old woman. An 87-year-old male passenger in her car was taken to St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital’s Newburgh campus where he died. The driver was listed in stable condition at Orange Regional Medical Center in Wallkill.
Police said it appears that sun glare may have caused the teenage driver to cross lanes.
