PORT JERVIS – A Port Jervis man was arrested following an incident at the Dunkin Donuts parking lot on East Main Street in Port Jervis.
Officers were called to the location in the Tri-State section of the city just before midnight on August 26. Witnesses told investigators a man had discharged several rounds from a rifle while on foot. He later fled the scene.  Officers located shell casings at the scene and a follow-up investigation resulted in the arrest of Justin Quick, 26, on charges of felony criminal possession of a weapon and misdemeanor reckless endangerment, for allegedly discharging a 22 caliber rifle in the parking lot while being involved in a disturbance.
Quick was sent to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Port Jervis Police Chief William Worden said this type of situation does not occur often in the city.
“It is definitely not the norm,” Worden said. “We typically
do not have these types of incidents occur on a routine basis occur on
our city streets,” he said.
While most crime involves drugs, the chief said there is no indication that was the case in this incident.
