MONTICELLO – A 75-year-old Monticello man has been charged with
drug sales in the village.

James “Doc” Holliday was arrested for felonies of criminal
sale and possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor for criminally using drug
paraphernalia and a violation of unlawful possession of marijuana.
Holliday was arrested following an investigation into illegal narcotics
activities on Liberty Street in Monticello.

Officers arrested him after he was observed selling heroin to another
person. A subsequent search of his Liberty Street apartment resulted in
the recovery of 367 glassine envelopes of heroin packaged for sale, a
clear plastic bag with seven more grams of heroin, packaging materials,
a small amount of marijuana and over $2,000 in cash.

He was committed to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.
