PORT JERVIS – City Police in Port Jervis arrested a local man on Tuesday and charged with several sex offenses. Rusty Anderson, 38, was investigated after allegations surfaced that he was engaged in a sexual relationship with the 14-year-old girl.
Police said Anderson met the victim through online social media several months ago and shortly after meeting with the girl, he began a sexual relationship with her. Detectives also alleged that Anderson provided the child with narcotic drugs during some of those sexual encounters.
Anderson was charged with rape, criminal sexual act, facilitating a sex offense with a controlled substance, and disseminating indecent material to minors, all as felonies, and the misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child. He is in the Orange County Jail without bail pending a future court appearance.
Anderson is presently under parole supervision for an out-of-state felony conviction, police said.
Additional charges may be filed.
